KUALA LUMPUR: The Red Shirt 2.0 rally will be more multiracial and include more Chinese and Indians unlike the previous rally, says Red-shirt rally organiser Datuk Jamal Yunos.
Speaking to reporters outside the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) here on Sunday, Jamal said that he expects at least 40% of Red shirt supporters to be Chinese.
Jamal who is also Sungai Besar Umno chief added that so far, around 58, 000 supporters and members from various non-governmental organisations have registered to attend the rally, which will be held simultaneously with Bersih 5.
“It is clear today that the Red shirt 2.0 rally will go ahead if Bersih 5 goes ahead,” said Jamal.
Jamal was speaking at the launch of the new Red shirt rally t-shirts.
He said that 50, 000 of these t-shirts have already been printed with more to come as the organisers go on a ‘road show’ from state to state to gain more support against Bersih 5.
Jamal also said that rally which is themed “defence of constitutional democracy”, would follow all the necessary legal procedures in place as long as Bersih 5 does the same.
As of today, no date has yet been set for the Bersih 5 rally.
