ARAU – The Raja Muda of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail called on Muslims to make the blessed month of Ramadan a time for them to strengthen their devotion and brotherhood.
He said Ramadan is the month for Muslims to instill self-discipline, patience humility and strengthen their devotion to God.
“Be diligent to come to the mosque. Make the house of God a place to strengthen brotherhood, as well as strengthen our faith,” he said when opening the Al-Munawwarah Mosque in Kampung Sungai Bugis, Simpang Empat here, Tuesday.
Tuanku Syed Faizuddin, who is Perlis Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPs) president, also thanked tithe payers in the state as their contributions enabled MAIPs to distribute aid of more than RM2.463 million during Ramadan this year.
The amount, he said, included more than RM68,000 for Perlis students pursuing studies inthe Middle East next month, Ramadan activities at 105 mosques (RM525,000); raya contribution for new Muslim converts (RM70,000) and annual allocation for 15 religious institutions in Perlis (RM1.8 million).
