KUALA LUMPUR – Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Hajah Haminah today graced the opening of the Muslimah Carnival and presentation of aid contributions from Yayasan Anak-anak Yatim Sultanah Haminah (YAYSH) at the Federal Territory Mosque here.
The two-day carnival is held in collaboration with the Federal Territory Islamic Religious Department and YAYSH.
Various activities like seminars, muslimah clothing and religious talks by well-known preachers like Ustaz Harryanto Rizal Rokman and Assoc Prof Dr Sharifah Hayaati Syed Ismail have been lined up in conjunction with the carnival.
Tuanku Hajah Haminah, who is also YAYSH patron, also presented aid in the form of cash, schooling tools and Aidilfitri clothes to 200 orphans.
Her Majesty also presented cash aid to 100 selected single mothers and spent time talking with them before leaving the event.
Also present were Malaysian Islamic Development Department (JAKIM) director-general Datuk Othman Mustapha, JAWI director Paimuzi Yahya and YAYSH board member Datuk Seri Norazam Ibrahim. – BERNAMA
