ALOR GAJAH – Puteri UMNO will be focusing on its agenda and strategies in strengthening the party wing machinery at all levels right down to the grassroots, in the first six months of this year.
Its chief Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin said the wing would meet up with the leaders and grassroots in each state to deliver the message and resolve the existing issues in preparing for the coming general election.
“I see this first six-month period as very important to plan our work strategy at every level so that whatever we do in facing the general election will not be futile.
“Moreover, it’s important to resolve problems if any, as each Puteri member cannot work alone and we also need the help and support of the other UMNO wings to strengthen the party machinery.”
She said this to reporters after opening the Family Day programme themed ‘Family Comes First’, organised by the Masjid Tanah division Wanita UMNO, here, last night.
Mas Ermieyati, who is also Tourism and Culture Deputy Minister, said Puteri members should emulate their Wanita UMNO counterparts who were relentless in serving the party and working hard to help Barisan Nasional champion its agenda.
“We see Wanita UMNO’s seriousness and commitment as though they are only in their twenties…working hard regardless of time and this sacrifice should be emulated by Puteri,” she added.
She, however, noted that the Puteri and Wanita UMNO wings always moved together and complementing each other in identifying potential voters of Barisan Nasional and in registering them.
“This solidarity must remain not just to win votes from the women but also for Barisan Nasional to win in the general election,” she said. – BERNAMA
