KUALA LUMPUR: The police have warned the public to be wary of donation drives for victims of the fire at the Darul Quran Ittifaqiyah Tahfiz school in Keramat here yesterday.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun said the public should first verify the status of any particular fundraising organisation before donating their money.
“If in doubt, I urge the public to lodge a police report on the matter,” he said.
Twenty-one students and two teachers were killed in the 5.15am blaze, while seven others were injured. — BERNAMA
