PEKAN – Public toilets in Pahang, will be given a ‘star rating’ after auditing is done by the Health Department to assess their level of cleanliness.
Pahang Health Department director, Dr Zainal Ariffin Omar, said his department would take the initiative to audit the level of cleanliness of public toilets on a regular basis.
“By next month the auditing of about 400 public toilets will be carried out.
“Through the audit studies conducted for the first time, we will give the toilets ‘star rating’ in accordance to their hygiene standards,” he said in a speech at the state level ‘Launch of the Clean Toilet Campaign and Safe Health Facilities’ here, yesterday.
He added that although many clean toilet programmes had been implemented there were still a lot of complaints from the public about the toilets being neglected. – BERNAMA
