KOTA BHARU: The general public is advised not to spread false information about the health of PAS spiritual leader Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat, who is being treated in a hospital in Kota Bharu.
Kelantan Deputy Chief Minister Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah said the spread of false information via social networking sites such as Facebook will only lead to negative perception.
“I also advise the public not to spread photographs. The information spread must be accurate and comes from verified sources,” he told reporters after visiting Nik Aziz in Universiti Sains Malaysia Hospital (HUSM), Kubang Kerian on Wednesday (Jan 21).
Nik Aziz, 84, is being treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of HUSM. He was also visited by Kelantan Chief Minister Ahmad Yakob and most of the state executive councillors.
Mohd Amar said the state government had urged all parties to hold special prayers for the good health of Nik Aziz.
Nik Aziz’s son Nik Mohamad Abduh said his father was admitted to HUSM two days ago after his health deteriorated during the recent massive floods. He said Nik Aziz, who is suffering from prostate cancer, was in stable condition and showed better reaction to the treatment given.
