KUALA LUMPUR – Proton Holdings Bhd today unveiled a new variant of Saga, called the Saga Plus, as a replacement to the existing variant Saga SV.
In a statement today, Proton said the Saga Plus has five additional features at no extra charge and will make the car even better value for money.
Proton said with Saga Plus, it will streamline the Saga variant by discontinuing the Executive and SE variants.
“The Saga Plus features five exterior changes – fitted with 14-inch alloy rims, a full body kit, spoiler, rear garnish body colour and a ‘Plus’ grade mark,” it said.
Proton Chief Executive, Datuk Abdul Harith Abdullah, said the word ‘Plus’ reflected the additional features on the existing Saga SV model.
“The model carries the exterior of the Saga Executive variant while retaining the SV price bracket. This means that there is no price increase despite having the improved looks,” he said.
Abdul Harith said the Saga Plus design not only appealed to those with a small family but also to youths and young executives who had just entered the employment market.
“Proton is confident that Saga Plus will continue to pique interest of buyers who are looking for value for money sedan that best fit their requirements,” he said.
The car, powered by a 1.3 litre Campro IAFM engine, is available in manual and CVT transmission. It is priced as low as RM33,242 to RM36,576 per unit.
Car buyers can view the new model at all PROTON showrooms from tomorrow. -BERNAMA
