IPOH – Perak Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir, has confirmed that Proton Holdings Bhd’s production facilities are still operating as usual and there are no plans to close its operations in Tanjung Malim.
“Proton’s representatives have confirmed that the operations are going on as usual and there are no decisions to close them in the industrial area,” he told reporters after chairing the State Executive Council meeting here today.
Zambry said Proton was expected to be the main contributor to the development of Muallim district.
“Based on ther explanations and planning, apparently their projects are still on track and moving in line with future development.
“They have also introduced and provided explanations to the state government on the new models that will be be launched soon and production in Tanjung Malim plant,” he said. – BERNAMA
