KUALA LUMPUR – Proton Holdings Bhd is now ramping up production as well as increasing dealer stocks nationwide for its sedan car, Persona, following steady increase in demand for the car which was first launched in August 2007.
“As we see a steady demand in numbers for locally made cars due to the drop in our ringgit, we’re pleased that more and more Malaysians choose the Persona as their preferred car due to its spacious size, moderate fuel consumption and low maintenance cost,” its Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Abdul Harith Abdullah said.
Since its launch, the Persona has clocked sales of 265,882 units until Aug 31, 2015.
“The sedan car segment has shown significant growth over the years and the group of buyers have expanded from the traditional family to the young and professionals,” he said in a statement here, today.
Powered by 1.6 litre Campro IAFM engine, the Persona is available in two variants – Persona Super Value (SV) and Persona Executive, priced from RM44,658.
The waiting period for the Persona at present stands at one month.
Customers are encouraged to go to any Proton showrooms nationwide and test drive the car.
Proton is also currently running its 30th Anniversary promotion campaign in conjunction with the Merdeka Day and Hari Malaysia celebration.
Low down payments for selected Proton cars of up to RM3,000 for trade-ins, attractive financing rates of as low as 1.99 per cent and seven-year extended warranty for new buyers are among other interesting promotions. – BERNAMA
