KUALA LUMPUR: ASEAN Senior Officials begin to attend a series of preparatory meetings in the run up to the 10th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Transnational Crime (AMMTC) and related meetings here, today.
The series of preparatory meetings was kicked off at 8am today presided by Malaysian Home Ministry Secretary General Datuk Seri Alwi Ibrahim.
He was also scheduled to chair the preparatory meetings on the 7th AMMTC+3 Consultation, the 4th AMMTC+China Consultation and the 2nd AMMTC + Japan Consultation, which will be held consecutively today.
The 10th AMMTC and related meetings, will also be followed with the convening of Special Asean Ministerial Meeting on the Rise of Radicalisation and Violent Extremism (SAMMRRVE) on Friday.
AMMTC which kicks off tommorrow and will be officiated by Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, expects to adopt two Kuala Lumpur declarations, that is the Kuala Lumpur Declaration on Transnational Crime and the Kuala Lumpur Declaration on Irregular Movement of Persons in Southest Asia.
While SAMMRRVE will be held on Friday, and will be officiated by Zahid.
