KUALA LUMPUR – The race for the 2015 Premier League title remains open after league leader, Kedah lost 0-2 to Negeri Sembilan at Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium in Paroi, Friday night.
The results however did not threaten Kedah’s position at the top of the table with 42 points after 20 matches.
In the match at Paroi, Negeri Sembilan which were known as NS Matrix this season scored through Francis Forkey Doe in the 72nd minute and substitute, N. Thanabalan in the 83rd minute.
Penang overtook T-Team in second place after blasting Sabah 4-0 at City Stadium in Penang.
Even though both teams have 39 points, Penang were placed second at the Premier League table based on goal difference.
Penang’s four goals were contributed by Elias Sulaiman in the 41st minute, Mohd Azinee Taib (48th and 73rd minute) and Mohd Faiz Subri in the 61st minute.
At UiTM Stadium in Shah Alam, UiTM FC held T-Team to a 2-2- draw.
UiTM’s skipper Dao Bakary scored in the 41st minute and Aiman Syazwan found the net in the 52nd minute while Sadriddin Abdullaev of Uzbekistan scored twice in the 34th and 54th minutes for T-Team.
PKNS FC remained in the fourth spot despite playing to a 1-1 draw against DRB Hicom FC at Proton Stadium in Tanjung Malim, Perak.
Meanwhile, Johor Darul Ta’zim II (JDT II) edged Kuala Lumpur 2-1 at the Pasir Gudang Stadium in Johor Baharu.
Kuala Lumpur’s South Korean import Choi Hyun Yeon shocked the host with a goal in the 33rd minute before the home team pulled back via Mohd Zaquan Adha Abdul Radzak in the 52nd minute and Mohd Akmal Ishak in the 69th minute.
Tomorrow there will be only one Premier League match involving table-bottom teams, SPA Putrajaya FC and Kuantan FA at UiTM Stadium, Shah Alam.
