For those who have not gotten the chance to visit out our two cuddly buddies, now you can add them to your collection—of stamps!
Beginning today, a stamp collection celebrating goodwill pandas Xing Xing and Liang Liang will be available at all Pos Malaysia offices nationwide.
The giant pandas — formerly known as Feng Yi and Fu Wa — were loaned to Malaysia for 10 years by China to mark the 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties between both governments.
They arrived here on May of last year.
“The collection is known as the Giant Panda International Conservation Cooperation Project and is aimed at boosting awareness on the importance of efforts to conserve and the importance of wildlife and the preservation of biodiversity,†Pos Malaysia Group acting chief executive officer Azlan Shahrim was quoted as saying in a Bernama report.
According to Azlan, this stamp was unique because it was a mini sheet printed on a a kind of material that had security features. The mini sheet will feature images of both pandas.
These can be purchased at RM8 each while the ordinary stamps will be available at 70 sen each.-MYNEWSHUB.CC
