KOTA BHARU – Kelantan head coach Velizar Emilov Popov has declined to extend his contract with the FA of Kelantan (KAFA) for the next season.
KAFA president Tan Sri Annuar Musa said they received an official letter today from Popov stating that he did not want to continue his services for the 2017 Malaysian League season.
He said Popov cited family and personal reasons for not wanting to extend the contract.
“For your information, we offered a one-year extension (of his contract) with a 60 per cent pay increase,” he said on his Facebook today.
Annuar, on behalf of KAFA, also extended his appreciation for the services rendered by Popov in the six months he was with the Red Warriors this season.
Kelantan finished in fourth place in the Super League this season, which concluded yesterday.- BERNAMA
