KUALA TERENGGANU – The Education Ministry prohibits any political party from interfering in the school affairs, especially those involving bullying or any form of violence, for fear it would trigger discord.
Education Minister Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid said any incidents in schools would be dealt with by the schools themselves or the state education departments and district education offices concerned.
“If possible, we want to avoid any political interference that are extreme, because school matters only involve students, and they come from various races.
“We do not want other people to become ‘champions’ or heroes, and bring unhealthy elements such as playing the race card,” he told reporters after closing the 55th National Education Management Conference for School Principals here, today.
Mahdzir also requested schools to cooperate by trying to solve the cases with the related parties first, before bringing the mater to the higher ups or outsiders, including political parties. – BERNAMA
