Police Solve Tumpat Murder Case In 90 Minutes

KOTA BHARU – Police solved the murder of a man in Kampung Ana, Tumpat last night after apprehending a suspect and recovering the weapon used in the case in less than two hours.

Kelantan deputy police chief SAC Din Ahmad said the suspect who was at the premises, was arrested after the police found a blood stained fishing spear belonging to the victim beside his body.

“Investigations showed the suspect holds a disabled person (OKU) card for mental disabilities issued by the Welfare Department last year,” he told reporters at Kelantan police contingent headquarters here today.

Din said the 29-year-old suspect had been jailed for causing hurt with a weapon and was released in 2012.

“We considered the case solved and congratulated the police personnel for breaking the case in only 90 minutes,” he said.

In the incident at 10pm last night, the victim Mohd Khairi Mohd Yusof , 47, was found dead with head injuries believed attacked by the suspect who knew the victim.

The suspect who was believed to be having mental problems was remanded for a week starting today to assist investigations, he said. – BERNAMA
