KUALA LUMPUR – The police have recorded a statement from Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Aziz following several police reports lodged against the Tourism and Culture Minister, who was said to have made a statement that insulted the monarchy.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said Mohamed Nazri had made the statement last week.
“We will forward the investigation papers to the Attorney-General at any time,” he told a media conference after launching the high-definition digital version of the film “Bukit Kepong”, here today.
Several police reports were lodged by members of the public against Mohamed Nazri following his statement on the comments by the Tunku Mahkota of Johor, Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim, which was said to have insulted the royal institution.
Earlier, Tunku Ismail had uploaded a comment on the status in the Facebook website ‘Johor Southern Tigers’ regarding the dialogue ‘Nothing2Hide’ at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC), which was not attended by prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak for safety reasons. – BERNAMA
