ALOR SETAR – Kota Setar police seized an imitation pistol after raiding a house at 6 1/2 Mile Simpang Empat near here on Sunday.
Kota Setar police chief ACP Adzaman Mohd Jan said during the 4pm raid, police detained a 23-year-old unemployed man.
In the raid, police recovered an imitation pistol, plastic bullets and pistol gas, hidden in one of the bedrooms.
He said initial investigations revealed that the suspect bought the pistol from Thailand for RM1,000 to shoot civet cats near his house.
“We are investigating the suspect’s motive for possessing the pistol which could kill if metal bullets are used,” he told a media conference at the Kota Setar police headquarters here, today.
Adzaman said the suspect was remanded on Sunday to assist investigations under Section 36(1) of the Arms Act 1960. – BERNAMA
