KUANTAN – Police arrested 15 Vietnamese women for allegedly working as Guest Relations Officers (GRO) at an entertainment centre in Tanjung Gemok near Rompin last night.
Rompin police chief DSP Johari Jahaya said the 1.30 pm raid on the centre was mounted by a team of policemen from the Rompin police headquarters’ criminal investigation department.
Apart from the women, two local bouncers in their 30s were also arrested, he said.
All of the women have been remanded for 14 days to facilitate further investigation under Section 39 of the Immigration Regulations 1963 for abusing social visit passes, while the men will be investigated under Section 55B of the Immigration Act 1959/1963 for hiring foreign workers without permit, he added. – Bernama
