KUCHING – Some 750 members of the police force have been mobilised in ‘Op Selamat’ in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration in the state together with personnel from other enforcement agencies.
Sarawak Crime Prevention and Community Security chief, SAC Burhannuddin Abd Majid said during Op Selamat, police would monitor safety on roads and rivers, as well as monitor the houses of owners who returned home for the festival.

He also advised motorists to obey traffic rules and to ensure their vehicles are in good condition and not to drive under the influence of alcohol or when feeling tired.
