KANGAR – The Royal Malaysia Police are told to forge concrete and active collaboration with media practitioners to ensure that every information disseminated is authentic, accurate and accessible to the general public.
Perlis Raja Muda Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail said accurate information that reached to the target groups was crucial to raise awareness of the importance of crime prevention.
“The role of the police in fulfilling and safeguarding the peace, security and well-being of the people in today’s world is very challenging and the form of crimes was becoming increasingly complex and diverse.
“The use of the print and electronic media in the dissemination of information is rational and timely besides being extremely fast and widespread as it covers every place on earth, at all times and can be accessed by everyone,
“The progress shown by the PDRM in the community and at the highest level should be intensified and expanded further,” he said at a dinner in conjunction with the 211st Police Day celebration here last night.
Also present was Perlis Police chief Datuk Azisman Alias.
He said various programmes that could bring the police closer to the people such as local residents, government departments and institutions of higher learning should be intensified. – BERNAMA
