KEPALA BATAS – Police have stepped up patrol in Teluk Air Tawar and Penaga here following reports of a perpetrator destroying deities at several houses belonging to villagers last Wednesday.
Seberang Perai Utara (SPU) district police chief ACP Azmi Adam said the owners of the houses only realised the incident at about 6.30 am when they wanted to perform their prayers and found the deities in their houses destroyed.
According to witnesses, the suspect was believed to be a man on a motorcycle and wearing a full-faced crash helmet, he said when contacted here today.
He said five of the cases occurred in Penaga, and another at a house belonging to a 38-year-old female clerk in Teluk Air Tawar. – BERNAMA
