KUALA LUMPUR – Police are hunting down controversial blogger Papa Gomo and several other bloggers for allegedly posting inflammatory statements in connection with a fight that took place at the Low Yat Plaza in Bukit Bintang here on Friday.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar urged Papa Gomo and the others to turn themselves in.
“I have asked him (Papa Gomo) to do so but he has not, so police will be looking for him and the others as well.
“I do not need to mention names…they know who they are. Those who incited people to riot (at Low Yat Plaza) better be prepared for the consequences,” he
Khalid told this to reporters after attending a “Pinning of the Rank” ceremony for senior police officers at the Officers Mess at Bukit Aman here today.
Khalid said police were tracking and trying to identify those involved in the brawl at Low Yat Plaza on Saturday.
“There are unscrupulous individuals who tried to misuse social media by taking pictures of other incidents and linking them to the incident that occurred at Low Yat Plaza.
“They (not the individual responsibles) have tried to provoke others and to mislead the public … do not heat up the situation. We will track these irresponsible people and take action,” he said.
In another development, Khalid said police would hunt down the individual who hacked the Royal Malaysia Police’s (PDRM) official Facebook and Twitter sites.
“Although the sites have been restored, police are looking for them (the hackers),” he said.
Yesterday, PDRM’s Facebook and Twitter sites were hacked by irresponsible quarters who identified themselves as ‘#AnonGhost’ at 2.20 pm.
The hackers also introduced themselves as ‘We are: Mauritania Attacker – AnonxoxTn – StingerByte – Mr.Domoz – Th3Falcon – HusseiN98D -Dr’SaMiM-008 - n0name-haxor – hAxOr tr0jAn – BillGate – Mr.Ajword – Extazy007 – Psyco_Hacker – Black Cracker – Virusa Worm – Donnazmi – X-Wanted – De_Reb0rNz – Tunisian Cracker – L’APoca-Dz – Psyf3r – Vortex’. – BERNAMA
