in Latest/Sports

SHAH ALAM – The Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) failed to record its first win in the 2015 Malaysia Cup campaign when it managed only a 1-1 draw against PKNS FC at its own backyard, the Shah Alam Stadium, Monday night.

PDRM remain at the bottom of Group D when it collected only two points after drawing two matches and losing one match, while PKNS overtook Penang to second position with four points on goal difference.

PKNS scored in the 19th minute via a volley by Argentinean import Gabriel Miguel Guerra to beat goalkeeper Badrulzaman Abdul Halim.

But, the visitors cheers did not last long when it was forced to play with 10-man in the 30th minute after defender Abdul Ghani Rahman was shown the red card by referee Zulkifli Ahmad for handling the ball in front of goal, and a penalty was awarded to Police but the Cops failed to capitalise.

Police managed to equalise through its import from Maldives, Ali Ashfaq in the 51st minute.

Meanwhile, the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) said Malaysia Cup matches would be postponed if the Air Pollutant Index on the day of the match reaches or exceed 150 API.
