KUALA LUMPUR – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak yesterday shared his experience after making a surprise visit to the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station via his latest entry in his blog

In fact, Najib, who described the project as being very close to his heart, was also impatient to see Malaysians taking the trains upon completion of the project soon.

“The first thing that drew my attention upon arriving at the MRT station was its sophistication and the comfort that the facility provided.

“I also noticed that the platform for waiting was very wide and could accommodate so many users,” said the Prime Minister who also shared several photographs of the station in his blog.

Najib said the project proved that the approach ‘People First, Performance Now’ adopted by the government would continue to bring much benefits to the people.

“I am told that during peak hours, the interval between each train is just 3.5 minutes!” said the Prime Minister who frequently checked and scrutinised the development of the project from time to time.

Najib on Thursday spent about half-an-hour making a surprise visit to the Klang Valley MRT (KVMRT) project beginning from the Semantan Station up to Phileo Damansara Station, here this afternoon.

The tour was the Prime Minister’s fifth working visit to the KVMRT project and the first time that he took the MRT train, which clearly reflected his consistent commitment and concern to ensure that the project would meet the deadline and cost specified.

He added that so far the progress of the route from Sungai Buloh Station to Semantan Station has reached 89 per cent and the first phase for the SBK route from Sungai Buloh Station to Semantan Station will begin operations in December while the remaining route will be ready in July 2017
