PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has pledged to become an organ donor after the Public Service Premier Gathering (MAPPA – XIV) Public Services Transformation Programme, here, today.
The pledge was witnessed by Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa and Health Ministry secretary-general Tan Sri Fairda Mohd Ali at Putrajaya International Convention Centre.
In a statement, Health Department director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the pledge gives hope to some 19,000 patients in need of organs in Malaysia.
â€œThe ministry appreciates the contribution made by the leaders of the country towards the organ donation campaign. â€œWe hope more people will come forward voluntarily for this cause to help those in need,â€ he said.
