KUALA LUMPUR – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak today launched the Royal Malaysia Police’s (PDRM) Green Practices & Green Tech Application Blueprint 2.0 in conjunction with the 209th Police Day parade at the Police Training Centre (Pulapol) here.
The blueprint is a continuation of the first launched in 2014 with the cooperation of Malaysia Green Technology Corporation (GreenTech Malaysia).
The Blueprint 2.0 outlines a five-year action plan by PDRM for the force to achieve carbon dioxide reduction by 33,700 tonnes (tCO2) by 2020.
In his speech, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said the target set in the blueprint was in line with the objectives of the 11th Malaysia Plan (11MP).
Meanwhile, according to GreenTech Malaysia’s press statement, the reduction target would be carried out in the areas of Government Green Procurement (GGP), Buildings, Energy and Utilities, Transportation Management, Information and Communications Technology as well as Waste Management.
During the first two years, PDRM achieved 85 percent of the targets indicated in the blueprint for the period of 2014-2015, it said. – BERNAMA
