Najib arrived at the MITEC at around 3.30 pm and was welcomed by Malaysian Armed Forces chief General Tan Sri Raja Mohamed Affandi Raja Mohamed Noor and Defence Ministry secretary-general Datuk Seri Abdul Rahim Mohamad Radzi.
The prime minister was accompanied by Deputy Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Johari Baharum, Navy chief Admiral Tan Sri Ahmad Kamarulzaman Ahmad Badaruddin, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun and Kuala Lumpur Police chief Datuk Seri Mazlan Lazim.
Najib spent about 45 minutes touring the two exhibitions and trying out several defence equipment being put on display by local and foreign exhibitors.

The prime minister was also taken on a tour to check out other defence and security equipment and tools, including a replica of an aircraft, shooting equipment and the latest military defence system.
Earlier, Najib spent 10 minutes listening to a briefing on the Network Centric Operation (NCO), which is capable of enhancing the effectiveness of order and control for various field operations and activities.
The NCO is also equipped with a wide range of real-time operation and two-way communication.
The DSA brings together about 1,500 defence-related companies and 350 foreign delegates from 45 countries.
It is expected to attract 40,000 visitors and become the platform for top management of defence and security around the world to exchange ideas, besides providing the industry players with opportunities to market their products.
The opening of the 16th edition of the DSA was officiated by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein yesterday.
DSA is a biennial event held since 1988. – BERNAMA
