BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak arrived here this evening for the 21st Malaysian-Brunei Annual Leaders’ Consultation scheduled to be held at Istana Nurul Iman, tomorrow.
The special aircraft bringing the Prime Minister touched down at the Brunei International Airport at 6.20pm.
On hand to welcome him were Brunei’s Education Minister Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Datuk Seri Setia Awang Suyoi Osman and Foreign Minister and Second Trade Minister Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Dewa Datuk Seri Setia Lim Jock Seng.
It is learnt that after the meeting with the Sultan of Brunei Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah at Istana Nurul Iman tomorrow, the Prime Minister will be feted to a feast at the palace.
Earlier today, Malaysia’s High Commissioner to Brunei Datuk Ghulam Jelani Khanizaman, at a media conference here, said Malaysia-Brunei ties were at a very good level and that among the matters that will be discussed would be the Pan Borneo Highway and cooperation in the defence, tourism and oil and gas sectors.- BERNAMA
