KUALA LUMPUR – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and his deputy Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin paid their last respects to the late Special Affairs Department (Jasa) director-general Datuk Fuad Hassan at his residence this morning.
They were among the hundreds including close family, relatives, friends and well wishers who gathered at his residence at Taman Uda Jaya in Ampang near here.
Fuad, a former Ulu Klang assemblyman passed away at the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital in Kuantan about 12.20 am early this morning.
He was 62.
He suffered a heart attack while attending a Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission dinner in Kemaman, Terengganu.
He was rushed to the Kemaman Hospital for treatment and later transferred to the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital.
Others who paid their last respect were Home Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Communication and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Shabery Cheek, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom, and former minister Tan Sri Rais Yatim.
His remains are expected to be buried at the Bukit Teratai Islamic burial ground this afternoon. – NST
