KATHMANDU – A major disaster was averted when a passenger aircraft belonging to
Yeti Airlines overshot the runway while landing at Bhairahawa Airport, about 450
kilometres west of Kathmandu, Saturday afternoon, officials said.
According to chief administrator of the airport, Bishnu Prasad Dhakal all
passengers of the aircraft were safe although some suffered minor injuries.

The airline in a statement confirmed that all 29 passengers and three crew
members onboard the NYT893 flight were safe.
“Upon hearing the incident, technicians were immediately sent to
Bhairahawa for the needed maintenance of the aircraft,” the statement said.
The aircraft had left the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu on
its regular flight for Bhairahawa on Saturday afternoon, it said.
