KUCHING – The Immigration authorities today barred PKR Wanita chief Zuraida Kamaruddin from entry into Sarawak, said PKR Wanita vice-president Voon Shiak Ni.
They stopped her at the Kuching International Airport soon after she arrived at about 11am, she said, adding that Zuraida had been instructed to return to Kuala Lumpur on a 3.05pm flight.
She also said that PKR Wanita deputy chief Haniza Talha, who was with Zuraida, was allowed entry and she flew on to Miri.
Voon said Zuraida was scheduled to have a meeting with potential PKR Wanita candidates for the Sarawak election due by June.
She said the Immigration Department confirmed that Zuraida was on the list of people barred from entering Sarawak.
On Dec 6 last year, PKR vice-president and Lembah Pantai MP Nurul Izzah Anwar was barred from entering Sarawak. – BERNAMA
