PETALING JAYA – Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) expressed disappointment with PAS for not respecting the consensus decision of the opposition pact in Selangor to nominate a new Selangor menteri besar to replace Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.
PKR secretary-general Datuk Saifuddin Nasution said the decision was actually reached between the top leaders of PKR, PAS and DAP in a special meeting on Aug 17 last year.
“I think it is not difficult to understand the importance that the consensus is maintained,” he told Bernama after the party’s political bureau meeting as well as that of 13 Selangor state assemblyman at the PKR headquarters here yesterday.
He was commenting on a report in a local newspaper portal today which said PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang submitted three names comprising Selangor exco members to the palace to be considered for the post of Selangor’s menteri besar.
The media report said the PAS assemblyman who was nominated was Pas Selangor commissioner Iskandar Abdul Samad, while the other two were PKR president Datin Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and her deputy Azmin Ali.
The Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah has ordered the three opposition parties to submit more than two names as candidates to replace Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim. – Bernama
