KUALA LUMPUR – PKR, DAP and Parti Amanah Negara are to sign an agreement in Shah Alam on Jan 9 to formally establish the Pakatan Harapan pact.
Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, who is PKR president, said the agreement would pave the way for the three parties to cooperate in a sustainable political union.
It would also ensure that the discord that cropped up in the previous Pakatan Rakyat pact did not recur, she told a news conference at the Amanah headquarters here.
Amanah president Mohamad Sabu, DAP parliamentary leader Lim Kit Siang and Pakatan Harapan Secretariat chief Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah were also present at the news conference.
Asked whether PAS, a partner in Pakatan Rakyat, would be invited to the event, Dr Wan Azizah said the agreement was restricted to PKR, DAP and Amanah. – BERNAMA
