KUALA LUMPUR – Premier League club side, PKNS FC shocked Super League team Felda United FC 3-2 in an FA Cup match at the Hang Jebat Stadium in Melaka, last night.
The match saw Felda United scoring first via their sensational striker Francis Forkey Doe in the 15th minute.
Nonetheless PKNS FC coached by E. Elavarasan bounced back to control the match in the second half with goals from Gabriel Miguel Guerra (49th minute), Matias Nicholas (65th minute) and Mohd Nazrin Syamsul Bahri (69th minute).
After trailing 1-3, Muhammad Hadin Azman reduced the goal deficit by scoring in the 76th minute.
At the Likas Stadium, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah advanced to the quarter-finals after defeating Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) 2-1.
The 1995 FA Cup champions opened scoring in the 12th minute through Prince Tochukwu Nnake but the visitors equalised 10 minutes later via Faiz Ibrahim.
In the 46th minute, Maxsius Musa netted the winner for Sabah to continue their FA Cup campaign this season.
Meanwhile, at the Tuanku Syed Putra Stadium, Kangar, Kuala Lumpur also progressed to the quarter-finals after beating home team, Perlis 2-0 with goals from Fahrul Razi Kamaruddin in the 19th minute and Muhammad Hafiz Mohd Johar in the 25th minute.
At the Perak Stadium, Ipoh, The Bos Gaurus who lifted their last FA Cup in 2004 moved into the quarter-finals by edging Kuantan FA 1-0 with a goal by Vokhid Shodiev in the fourth minute.
Meanwhile, at Darul Makmur Stadium in Kuantan, club side Sime Darby FC beat Pahang 1-0 to move into the quarter-finals with the solityary goal netted by Syed Sobri Syed Mohamad in the fifth minute.
The draw for the FA Cup quarter-finals will held today.
