KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 22 (Bernama) — Petronas will continue to introduce energy-efficient vehicle (EEV) compatible products in line with the National Automotive Policy (NAP) aspirations to turn Malaysia into the regional automotive hub of EEV by 2020.
Its fuel technology manager for oil business, Chan Ming-Yau said the company’s products were already EEV compatible, including all Primax fuel products and Petronas Syntium 7000 which were developed from the company’s involvement in Formula One with Mercedes AMG.
“Likewise, we can work together with local companies, to invest locally to improve efficiency for the benefit of the public,” he told a media briefing on the Fluid Technology Solutions here today.
Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton was present.
Chan said the Primax fuel formula and Syntium 7000 lubricant were developed from the Fluid Technology Solutions used by the Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One team for the 2014 season.
He said the solutions were developed in Europe and took three years to be completed.
Chan said the Fluids Technology Solutions were an intelligent approach to designing fluids comprising lubricants, fuel and functional fluids that would maximise performance through tailor-made products and expert services.
He said the fluids that powered the Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One team were already being used for ordinary cars.
“This is epitomised through Syntium 7000 exclusive first-fill engine oil for Mercedes A 45 AMG, CLA 45 AMG and GLA 45 AMG performance cars and the new Petronas Primax 95 with Advanced Energy Formula for superior efficiency in everyday vehicles,” he added.
