KANGAR – The Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, today advised the young generation to assimilate positive values to shape a good personality.
He said they should build on good values such as developing the mind and physique; caring for the family and society, and volunteerism, among others.
These values would enable them to contribute productively to national development, he said at the launch of a ‘gotong royong’ (self-help) and the Perlis Royal Ride 2015 here.
Tuanku Syed Faizuddin was accompanied by the Raja Puan Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil.
Also present at the event were Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Azlan Man and Perlis National Civics Bureau director Jazli Fadzil.
The Raja Muda said a responsible young generation would strive to enhance support for the government in developing the state and country.
“This means the young generation should be on track in participating in the development process,” he said.
The event, organised by the state government with the collaboration of the Perlis National Civics Bureau, was supported by the Perlis Malaysian Association of Youth Clubs (MAYC), Kangar Municipal Council and Perlis Islamic Affairs and Malay Customs Council (MAIPs).
Prior to the start of the event, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin and Tuanku Hajah Lailatul Shahreen and the 300 participants planted 300 bougainvillea plants.
Tuanku Syed Faizuddin also launched the Perlis National Civics Bureau programme ‘Sahabat Anak Muda’ before starting the 14-km ride which made several stops to, among others, hand over contributions to three charity homes. – BERNAMA
