KANGAR – The Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail urged the Perlis Rotary Club, revived after 26 years, to be active in the education field, especially in assisting children from poor families.
“Education is an important element to bring change to the young generation towards building a developed, high-income nation.
“Education is very close to my heart, besides disasters that hit our country and people,” he said when gracing the club’s Charter Night themed ‘Night of Enchantment: A Musical Adventure’, at Dewan Sri Elham, Tasik Tasoh Resort, here, last night.
Raja Puan Muda Perlis, Tuanku Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil was also present at the function attended by over 300 guests from 49 of the 80 rotary clubs in the country, as well as representatives from Bangladesh and Thailand.
The event was held to mark the revival of the Perlis Rotary Club, the appointment of its office-bearers and presentation of the certificate and appointment letter to the club’s new president. – BERNAMA
