IPOH – The number of flood victims in the state continues to rise with 7,587 victims from 1,031 families forced to leave their homes.
State National Security Council assistant secretary Norhafizah Zainuddin said Perak Tengah district was the worst hit with 3,882 from 1,031 families evacuated.
â€œAs of 8am today, a total of flood relief centres are operational at Hulu Perak, Perak Tengah, Kerian and Kuala Kangsar,â€ she said.
In Hulu Perak, there are 722 victims from 183 families are affected. They are now seeking shelter at 11 centres.
In Kuala Kangsar, a total of 2,778 people from 697 families are affected while in Kerian, 205 victims from 61 families have been evacuated.
Meanwhile in Perak Tengah, 3,883 people from 1,031 families are seeking shelter at 19 flood relief centres. – NST Online
