KUALA LUMPUR: Perak leapt to the second place of the Super League leader board after crushing Felda United FC (FUFC) 4-1 at the Selayang Stadium, near here tonight.
The win enabled Perak to pip four other four other teams, namely Selangor, Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT), FUFC and Terengganu, who were all on 11 points, with a better goal difference.
Club side Police are now leading the league with 12 points after edging Sarawak 1-0 at the Shah Alam Stadium, yesterday.
Brazilian import Charles Chad Souza was the toast of Perak when he scored a hat trick in the 5th, 51st and 90th minutes while Nam Kung Woong completed the rout in the 82nd minute while Edward Junior Wilson slotted the only goal for Felda in the 48th minute.
Meanwhile, Selangor scraped through 3-2 over Sime Darby FC at the Shah Alam Stadium with goals from Andik Vermansah in the 54th minute, Ahmad Hazwan Bakri (65th min) and Robert Cornthwaite (78th min).
Sime Darby replied through imports Nemanja Vidakovic in the 69th minute and Dilshod Sharofetdinov in the final minute of the match.
At the Larkin Stadium, JDT had to dig deep into their reserves to come from behind and edge Armed Forces (ATM) 2-1 after Honduras import Jerry Palacios had put the soldiers in the lead by the 22nd minute.
Skipper Mohd Amri Yahyah levelled the score in the 31st minute before Safiq Rahim struck the winner in the 57th minute.
Malaysia Cup champion Pahang also collected three points after taming Lions XII of Singapore 3-2 at the Darul Makmur Stadium in Kuantan.
Pahang’s three goals were netted by Matias Conti in the 36th minute, R. Gopinathan (65th min) and Azidan Sarudin in the 76th minute while the visitors hit back with two goals from Muhammad Faris Ramli (15th min) and Khairul Nizam in the 90th minute.
In an east coast derby played at the Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium in Kuala Terengganu, home side Terengganu edged Kelantan 2-1 with former T-Team player, Mohamed Shahrin Sapien sealing the match for Terengganu in the 78th minute.
Terengganu had taken the lead in the 50th minute through Ismail Faruqi before Kelantan skipper Mohd Badhri Radzi equalised in the 76th minute.
