in Latest/Politics

KUALA KANGSAR – The Perak police have opened an investigation paper on Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) secretary-general Rafizi Ramli over an allegedly threatening statement against Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

Perak police chief Datuk Seri Abdul Rahim Hanafi said the investigation paper had been opened under Section 506 of the Penal Code for threatening.

“We will summon Rafizi to record his statement in the near future. Although he said it was just a joke, it is a threat,” he told reporters after checking on the Kuala Kangsar parliamentary by-election early voting process at Dewan Tun Salleh Ismael, the Kuala Kangsar District Police Headquarters police housing complex, here today.
