IPOH – The Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah has consented to retaining the 10 state executive council (exco) members to serve for the third year of the current term.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir said this would enable the state exco members to continue with their existing tasks and responsibilities.
“I wish to state that there is no change (in the line-up) as we wish to continue with the tradition.
“On behalf of the state government and as menteri besar, I wish to thank Tuanku (Sultan Nazrin Shah) for retaining the existing state exco members,” he said at a news conference at his official residence, here, today.
The 10 exco members are scheduled to take their oath of office at Istana Iskandariah, Kuala Kangsar, near here, at 10am tomorrow.
They include Datuk Saarani Mohamad (assemblyman for Kota Tampan), Datuk Mohd Zahir Abdul Khalid (Kamunting), Datuk Zainol Fadzi Paharuddin (Sungai Manik), Datuk Rusnah Kassim (Behrang) and Datuk Dr Mah Hang Soon (Chenderiang).
The others are Datuk Samsudin Abu Hassan (Ayer Kuning), Datuk Mohd Nizar Zakaria (Belanja), Datuk Nolee Ashilin Mohd Radzi (Tualang Sekah), Datuk Dr Muhammad Amin Zakaria (Batu Kurau) and Datuk Shahrul Zaman Yahya (Rungkup).
Saarani is the state Rural Development, Plantations, Agriculture, Housing and Local Government Committee chairman, Datuk Mohd Zahir (Industry, Investment and Development Corridor), Zainol Fadzi (Public Amenities, Infrastructure, Energy and Water), Rusnah (Women and Family Development and Social Welfare) and Dr Mah (Health, Public Transportation, Non-Muslim Affairs, National Integration and New Villages).
Samsudin holds the Consumer Affairs, Human Resources and Civil Society portfolio, Mohd Nizar (Islamic Education, Personality Development, Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives), Nolee Ashilin (Tourism, Arts and Culture) Muhammad Amin (Education, Science, Environment and Green Technology) and Shahrul Zaman (Youth, Sports, Communications and Multimedia). – BERNAMA
