IPOH – Perak Barisan Nasional (BN) is expected to announce its manifesto for the 14th General Election (GE14) on Wednesday, said Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir.
Zambry, who is also State BN chairman, said the manifesto would serve as a holistic plan for the people in Perak in facing challenges ahead.
“I will announce it in a ceremony, we expect that (to take place) on Wednesday. This manifesto is a comprehensive one and not just as election ‘candy’ and giving false hope,” he told a press conference after opening the Perak Youth Council 21st Annual General Meeting here today.
Commenting on the GE14 candidates, Zambry said the selection process was completed and that he was now waiting for the go-ahead from BN chairman Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak before announcing the names officially.
He also brushed off allegations that the Perak BN had yet to finalise the candidates’ list due to a dispute or misunderstanding among the BN component parties in the state.
“This allegation is untrue as Perak is the least problematic state. Perak BN will hold a thorough discussion in making a decision to ensure our victory.
“There is no question (whether) this seat belongs to a certain party or that seat is a traditional seat of a certain party. Our main goal is to win. Whoever can win will be the one to contest,” he said.
Earlier in his speech, Zambry said the Perak youths should be united to maintain peace and prosperity of the state and country.
The stability being enjoyed today was due to the leaders of the current government who placed the people’s agenda as its main agenda, he said. – BERNAMA
