GEORGETOWN – The Penang DAP office in Jalan Rangoon was splashed with red paint last night and the front door and a party flag were torched at Padang Kota DAP assemblyman Chow Kon Yeow’s service centre at the Jalan Kedah Complex, according to police.
North East District Police chief ACP Mior Faridalatrash Wahid said that at least three people were involved in the two incidents and that police were on the hunt for them.
The CCTV camera at the Penang DAP office showed two men splashing the paint on the office at about 10.30 pm, he said, adding that the door and flag at the service centre were torched early yesterday morning.
He also said that the service centre of Komtar DAP assemblyman Teh Lai Heng in Jalan Talipon was splashed with black paint and an attempt was made to torch it early on Saturday.
Mior Faridalatrash said the motive for the criminal acts was being probed and he advised the people against making any speculation.
He warned the irresponsible people to stop the crime immediately, saying their acts could undermine public order and stern action would be taken against them. – BERNAMA
