KOTA BAHARU – PAS announced on Friday that it had sacked vice-president Datuk Husam Musa for indiscipline but the Salor state assemblyman insisted that he was still a member of the party.
The party’s disciplinary committee confirmed Husam’s sacking after studying a complaint of misconduct against him under Clause 82(1)(b), (c), (d), (e) and (f) of the party constitution.
Husam said PAS should review his sacking because he had yet to reply to a show-cause letter from the committee.
Insisting that he was still a party member as he had yet to receive the letter of dismissal, Husam said he was confused by the party’s action to sack him without giving any reason.
“There could be quarters out to provoke me. I may not have done anything wrong. Political parties sometimes act for politican reasons and not because you are in the wrong,” he said soon after flying into the Sultan Ismail Petra Airport in Pengkalan Chepa here tonight.
Husam has been a vocal critic of the party and president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang, especially on the issue of alleged cooperation between PAS and UMNO.
