SEMPORNA – Misinformation being fed to the public about the goods and services tax (GST) must stop, said a Sabah assistant minister here.
Finance Assistant Minister Datuk Ramlee Marhaban claimed that certain irresponsible parties had been belittling the GST system which would be enforced on April 1, through the social media or face to face.
“Their action has caused confusion among the people. They should actually cooperate in channeling accurate information.
“The GST is implemented for the well-being of the people and future of the country,” he told reporters after launching a forum on GST in Semporna today.
Ramlee also called on the relevant agencies to double their efforts to educate the public on the GST. – BERNAMA
