KUALA LUMPUR – The 10 people suspected to have been involved in the commotion at the compound of Parliament House yesterday have until 2pm today to surrender themselves to the police, said Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar.
He said the incident is something that cannot be taken lightly and cannot be allowed to happen.
A group of people had ridiculed and attempted to assault Shah Alam MP Khalid Abdul Samad but they were stopped by the Parliament security guards.
“I give those involved up to 2pm today to surrender themselves,” he said to reporters after attending a function at the Senior Officers Mess at Bukit Aman here today.
Asked whether any of the MPs could have intentionally allowed the incident to take place, Khalid said the police investigation was going on.
Kuala Lumpur Police chief Datuk Amar Singh Ishar Singh said yesterday that the police had identified 10 people who were involved in the incident and asked them to come forward to assist in the investigation. – BERNAMA
