BERUAS – The flood relief centre in Kampung Panchor here which was opened following the high tide phenomenon several days ago was closed at 10am today.
Civil Defence Force Disaster Operations Officer, Shamsur Shahuddin said all the 73 victims from 18 families left the centre in stages beginning at 8am as the flood waters had receded.
“Most of them had returned home early this morning to clean their house as the surrounding areas had dried up since yesterday,” he said when contacted, here today.
The weather around Pantai Remis currently was reported to be cloudy.
At the moment, only the evacuation centre at Sekolah Kebangsaan Tapak Semenang, Teluk Intan remained open with 17 victims from three families being placed there. – BERNAMA
