KOTA BAHARU – Eleven new faces have been chosen to complement the 25-man Pamoga Qu Puteh The Red Warriors (PQPTRW) football squad for the Malaysian League challenge this season.
The new faces include eight local players namely Fakhrul Zaman Wan Abdullah Zawawi who is a striker from the President’s Cup squad, Mohd Qayyum Marjoni Sabil (defender/President’s Cup), Mohd Ramadhan Abdul Hamid (goalkeeper/Harimau Muda), Faizal Abu Bakar (striker/PDRM).
Others are Mohd Muslim Ahmad (defender/PDRM), Indra Putra Mahayuddin (midfielder/Felda United), Abdul Manaf Mamat (striker/Terengganu), and Mohd Daudsu Jamaluddin (defender/Johor JDT).
Three are new import players namely Jonatan Lucca (midfielder/Brazil), Dramane Traore (striker/Mali), and Baze Ilijoski (striker/Macedonia).
Goalkeepers Khairul Fahmi Che Mat and Mohd Shahrizan Ismail have been retained for this season.
The defenders retained are Tuan Muhammad Faim Tuan Zainal Abidin, Nik Mohd Shahrul Azim Ab Halim, Mohd Farisham Ismail, Norhafiz Zamani Misbah, Zairul Fitree Ishak, Mohd Noor Hazrul Mohd Mustafa, Mohd Zafran Akramin Abdul Razak, and Jonathan David Mckain (Australia). Their midfielders comprise Wan Zack Haikal Wan Nor, Wan Zaharulnizam Zakaria, Brendan Gan, Mohd Badhri Mohd Radzi (Team Captain), Muhd Amir Zikri Pauzi, and Mohd Rozaimi Azwar. Mohd Khairul Izuan Rosli and Nor Farhan Muhammad were retained as forwards while K. Devan was appointed the team coach cum manager. The list of players was announced before a friendly match between PQPTRW and Kuala Lumpur at the Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium here tonight.
Also present were Football Association of Kelantan (Kafa) president Tan Sri Annuar Musa and Kafa honorary advisor Datuk Seri Dr Hasmiza Othman.
