PUTRAJAYA – MIC president Datuk Seri G. Palanivel held a closed-door meeting with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak here today.
A close aide to Palanivel, who is also the Natural Resources and Environment Minister, confirmed the meeting which was held around 9 am at the prime minister’s office.
However, details of the what transpired during meeting was not disclosed.
The meeting held days after Najib tweeted that he would summon Palanivel to ask him to explain the latter’s statement made during an MIC special gathering at Putra World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur.
Palanivel reportedly told thousands of supporters at the special gathering on Saturday, that Najib and Barisan Nasional “got involved in pressuring MIC to reject the party’s 2013 election results”. – BERNAMA
